This very important large block of time may include play at the block corner, pretend centre, science corner, loose parts areas, play dough table, book corner, listening centre, puzzle and game centre, art easel, creative area, sand and water tables, laptop research areas, reflection areas with learning stories & documentation including photos, interest centres... Outdoor play experiences are also highly regarded!
Nutritious snacks and beverages are supplied by duty parents for the nursery school programs as per a monthly menu created at The Children's Garden.
The Children's Garden, Highview's Garden & Cathedral's Garden supply the breakfast snack and afternoon snack for the day care programs and/or the before & after school programs. The school age programs require that children bring a bag lunch on full days.
Everyone is encoraged to participate in a fun filled manner.
Group times may include songs, fingerplays, games, poems, story time, discussions, creative movement, counting activities, birthday celebrations, fire drills... Field trips occur regularly based upon interests, time of year, opportunities presented by families or the community.
Indoor or outdoor activities may include play with parachutes, tricycles, wagons, riding toys, trampoline, playhouse, sandboxes, toys under shade structures, tunnel, bean bags, balls, hoops, climber, creative activities, winter sliding, dinosaur climbing, gardening, nature adventures, rainy day walks, winter sliding, snow shoeing, neighbourhood walks...
