General Information

The Children's Garden is a non-profit, charitable, parent co-operative nursery school, preschool day care and before & after school program licensed by the Ministry of Education. We are delighted to announce that we have created two satelite before and after school programs, Highview's Garden at Highview Public School and Cathedral's Garden at Cathedral Catholic School!

COVID-19 Considerations

The staff at our three centres are striving to provide children and families with safe, stimulating, fun-filled programs in the midst of Covid-19 restrictions. We participate in extensive screening and cleaning measures, using health and safety protocols approved by the Ministry of Education and the Renfrew County and District Health Unit / Ministry of Health. It is our sincere hope that we can continue to provide children and their families with many magical moments free from the stressors of COVID-19.

Nursery School Duty Days

Families using the nursery school program take turns approximately once per month per child to volunteer and assist the staff and the children in their particular program. Families also provide daily snacks and beverages on their duty day which is scheduled on a rotating basis. If unable to do monthly duty days, paid duty staff or other parents/caregivers are available for $25.00.

During COVID-19 restrictions, parents, guardians and volunteers are not allowed in our child care programs. Nursery school families will be charged $25.00 monthly in lieu of providing snacks and participating on duty days. The Children's Garden will manage all food and staffing for nursery school.

Each family is reponsible for making transportation arrangements for children attending the nursery school or day care programs. Children attending before & after school are picked up or dropped off by school busses. School bus transportation must be arranged by the family with the Renfrew County Joint Transportation Consortium.
